New England Strategic Alliance Councils choose Enlighten

Sydney Australia 25 April 2007 - Open Spatial Australia today announced that the New England Strategic Alliance Councils have chosen Enlighten.

Enlighten is a browser based spatial distribution product that is now in operation across more local authorities with a focus on Water and Wastewater infrastructure assets.

After a rigorous evaluation period NESAC have chosen to proceed with an Enlighten implementation from Open Spatial Australia. Enlighten proved throughout the evaluation to be a far superior product to the other products being evaluated.

One of the success criteria set by NESAC was a tight integration with GEAC Pathways, which Open Spatial Australia committed to have working before the product was purchased.

Enlighten provides spatial business intelligence which quickly integrates databases from many sources into a single user interface. Tables with indirect relationships with spatial data can be accessed and associated with spatial features.

Eddie Basile, Manager of Operations at Open Spatial Australia comments "Enlighten has the unique capability of being able to present corporate data through a geographic interface, corporate data that ordinarily might have no direct relationship with a spatial feature can now be spatially aware."

Relationships can be established between tables in different databases. Assume that you have a table in Microsoft Access that contains an attribute such as a Pipe Id which then links to an Asset table in Microsoft SQL Server. Enlighten can provide visibility to both tables through this unique capability.
