Oracle Spatial National User Forum
Inaugural Victoria User Forum for Oracle Spatial Tuesday 21st February, 2pm to 4:30pm at Oracle Corporation, level 7, 324 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne .AGENDA 2pm Welcome 2:10pm - 3:00pm "Oracle Spatial Technologies in a nutshell" - Daniel Geringer, Senior Software Development Manager, Oracle Corporation, U.S.A. Daniel will be discussing the key features of Oracle Spatial (and Locator) as well out outlining new features in Oracle10g Release 2 and future releases. 3:00pm - 3:20pm The Oracle Network Data Model and Victorian Public Transport dataset- Ross Caldow, Geomatic Technologies. Geomatic Technologies has been working with Victorian Government data to prototype transport routing and have developed web services that operate on multi-modal public transport network data. This presentation will include a demonstration of the prototype and discussion on network routing using Oracle offerings. 3:20pm - 3:40pm Overview of several Projects using Oracle Spatial - Brian Marwick, LogicaCMG. LogicaCMG have been actively involved in a number of local Oracle Spatial implementations. Brian's presentation will include discussion on data migration and integration with a number of GIS products. 3:40pm - 4:30pm General discussion The presence of Daniel from Oracle will provide a rare opportunity to speak with one of the products key architects. To ensure ongoing forums and communication, it will be necessary to nominate a committee as well as discuss the structure of future forums.
